The "Alcohol in my life" project was created by West Glasgow CHCP's Health Improvement and Inequalities team, as part of a campaign designed to raise awareness of the issues related to underage drinking.
Following the success in West Glasgow CHCP, South Glasgow are now implementing "Alcohol in my Life" in their area. South Glasgow would like to thank the team for their support and guidance.
South Glasgow has a large population of young people , many of whom live in 15% of the most deprived areas. There is also a clear correlation between deprivation and poor health. Furthermore, the Ripple Effect: Alcohol and Communities Survey (2007) highlighted the high impact problematic alcohol use can have upon communities. In areas such as Greater Govan, Ibrox/Kingston, Cardonald, Pollok and Priesthill/Househillwood these findings are particularly significant.
